FROM THE FOUNDER
Welcome to the UNO Society! My name is Mia Chen and I'm the founder of UNO. Being a teenager part of Generation Z, I wanted to find a way to use the power of social media and the internet to spread awareness about topics that were less spoken out about and needed to be addressed. I created the UNO Society as a place for creative freedom and for youth to showcase their talent. Join us on our journey to let the unspoken become outspoken.

Jae Eun is a writer for UNO Society, which she previously was a part of at the beginning of its journey as a researcher. She’s currently a stay-at-home mom, and an online biology major through ASU.
Diya Kaur

Diya is from Buffalo New York and is entering her Sophomore year in high school. Diya often spends her time reading and uses her social media platforms to advocate and educate.
Sonika Jalem

Alongside advocating for and raising awareness about Asian issues, Sonika also enjoys partaking in the arts and humanities, attending various community events, and spending time with her friends.
Nicole Patel

Nicole is an incoming junior and will be an editor for UNO! She’s interested in helping educate our population on significant topics including diversity and mental health. She wants to be apart of this change as much as she can!
Nina Argel

Nina is currently studying the humanities at her high school and loves thrifting for clothes, taking trips to her local museums, and playing the guitar. She loves sushi, the color green, and finding new ways to change the world.
Soha Mahapatra

Soha Mahapatra is a 14 year old high school student in Maryland. She plays tennis, practices Indian Classical Dance, and is part of a choir. Soha also enjoys reading and writing.

Mahati Desabhatla is a rising 10th grader from North Carolina. She is really excited to be apart of the UNO society. Some of her favorite things to do include: watching gilmore girls ,playing tennis, and reading!

Ishika is a rising senior in high school, residing in the the Chicago suburbs. She is very passionate about the mission of UNO Society, as a South Asian American, and will continue to spread awareness. She loves to dance!

She is a 17 years old Filipino student who pursues her love and compassion for her family, friends, career and talents. Her love for dancing, singing, playing sports, reading, and writing are the things that keep her going to achieve her goals.
